Surgenex acknowledges that a majority of our U.S. customers are “Covered Entities” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) privacy and security regulations. As such, they are legally required to safeguard all patient information that they generate or receive.
Although Surgenex is not a Covered Entity under HIPAA, we understand the significance of these regulations for our customers. Surgenex is committed to handling interactions with customers and their patients in a professional and responsible manner, ensuring the privacy of any information we receive in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Our sales and marketing teams have undergone HIPAA training, and we expect our employees to adhere to both explicit and implicit customer instructions regarding any potential exposure to protected health information.

Most web sites collect some sort of information about their visitors in order to gather statistics about how many visitors they get each month, what are the most and least popular pages on the web site, where there may be problems in serving certain pages to visitors, etc. In an effort to answer questions such as these, Surgenex also collects certain basic information about its visitors.
Please note, however, that Surgenex has no interest in personally identifying its users. This would be practically quite difficult, and quite an unnecessary task to accomplish anyway. The only thing that Surgenex is interested in is the overall statistics of its readership. Cumulative figures that provide a picture of visitor traffic to our site are vital in our efforts to attract advertisers -- upon whose support the site depends -- and to monitor how well our web server is keeping up with our ever-increasing readership.
What information does Surgenex collect about its visitors? We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
Such information can include certain location data pertaining to a user, if such information is made available from GPS, Wi-FI, or cell phone tower data in accordance with whatever settings may allow for the collection of such data in the user's web browser or cell phone. So, for example, a user may see ads of nearby businesses in the user's locality, if a user's browser has enabled location services and if an advertiser has the ability to target ads to users in certain geographical areas.
In the course of serving advertisements to this site, third-party advertisers may also place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser. For example, Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Surgenex. Google's use of the DoubleClick DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to Surgenex and other sites on the Internet.
